Spain with Kids

Spain is one of the easiest places in Europe to slow down with kids. Walkable towns, long lunches, warm weather, and a culture that genuinely includes children make it well suited to families who want more than a rushed holiday.

This section shares our on-the-ground experience of traveling and living in Spain as a family. We focus on what actually matters when you’re staying longer, working remotely, or balancing everyday life with exploration; from choosing where to base yourself to understanding how different regions really feel day to day.

This content is written for families who are spending more than a typical trip in Spain, whether that’s a few weeks, a season, or something more open-ended.

Explore Spain by region

Each section below brings together our lived experience, practical guides, and family-focused stories from time spent in different parts of Spain.

Valencia Region

The Valencia Region is a gentle entry point into Spain for families who want culture, warmth, and ease without the intensity of bigger, faster-paced destinations. This part of Spain lends itself to slower travel with walkable cities, green spaces woven into everyday life, relaxed mealtimes, and a rhythm that works well when you’re moving with children. Our time here was shaped less by ticking off attractions and more by how it felt to live and move through the region as a family, starting with a short, low-pressure stay in Valencia that set the tone for exploring Spain at a pace that actually feels sustainable.

Our first stop in the Valencia Region was the city of Valencia; a calm, walkable place that worked well for us as a short family stopover between longer stays.
